His face was blank which left her blinking at him. She stared at him with scrutinizing eyes, examining his features. His facial expression suddenly made her unsure of whom he really is. She gave him a slow up and down elevator look. Compared to Kyuhyun she knew, his physique doesn’t have much difference. He’s just a little thinner.
Suddenly, he interrupted her thoughts with a “What? Have you had enough of my body?”
“Excuse me??” She almost choked upon hearing what he said.
“Just stop staring at me like that... It’s creepy.” He uttered.
“Geez! How come you make it sound like I’m a perv? It’s just that I thought I was wrong. Your face looks dead. Am I wrong?” she tried to explain.
But, he cut through her sentence with a “Ya! I’m your sunbae. I stopped schooling because I was hospitalized for awhile that’s why I had to attend your batch, remember? But you can call me oppa.” in a joking manner.
“Oh, I didn’t know that. Okay.” She seemed surprised with what he just said and laughed. Unfortunately, it worsened the headache from her hangover. “Kyuhyun oppa it is then.”
“Have you been really paying attention to the people around when you’re at school? Oh, the washroom’s over there.” He pointed to his right. “Wash up and be ready for breakfast.” He walked straight to kitchen without waiting for her answer, forbidding her to retort or disagree.
Since she couldn’t really think properly and her head is throbbing brutally, it would be pointless to argue. Like a five-year-old kid, she did was do what she’s told.
“OH NO!!!” She exclaimed as she came across a mirror before reaching the washroom. She’s surprisingly comfortable around him.
“What is it?” Kyuhyun almost ran towards her.
“I slept with my makeup on...” It almost sounded like a whisper to him but it was loud enough for him to understand.
He laughed in disbelief. “Are you serious?” He asked. “Shouldn’t you be more concerned about your excuse for not going home for a night rather than your beauty rituals? Your parents must be really angry.”
Now that he mentioned, she frantically looked around before asking, “Have you seen my...” As soon as she caught a sight of her bag, she fumbled through her things in search for her mobile phone. She hurriedly called her sister.
“Pick up the phone, R... Pick up, pick up, pick up...” She chanted as she raked her fingers through her hair. “Gosh! How come it took you forever to answer?”
Meanwhile, Kyuhyun went to the kitchen area and prepared breakfast for them.
Hye Ri didn’t pay attention to her whining. “M unnie, where the hell are you? How dare you sneak out...”
Hye Min was too impatient to let Hye Ri finish lecturing her. “It’s a long story R, I’ll try to get there the soonest possible time. Just make up any excuse that Mom and Dad would buy, okay?” She desperately needed someone to cover up for her. Her life is so gonna be over after this.
“No need. They were in a hurry trying to catch a flight awhile ago. I said you were sleeping and they didn’t even bother.” Hye Ri explained.
“I see.” was all she could say. “Bye.”
“Bye.” With that, she hung up on her sister.
She took her things in one swift move. She completely forgot about washing up her face and hurriedly went straight to the kitchen to tell Kyuhyun that she’s leaving but it seems like Kyuhyun is a bit of a psychic.
“No, you can’t. Eat breakfast first.” He uttered as if he was reading her mind. He was too busy to look at her. He looks more like a wife serving breakfast for her husband. “I’m not asking you any favour in return for saving you or letting you stay for the night. Just eat some breakfast. You might collapse somewhere.”
Of course, she can’t reject his offer. “Wait...” She looked at him trying to find the best words to ask if something happened between them.
When he noticed that she paused for a little too long, he stopped what he’s doing, tilted his head up and gave her a “What?”. Although he has an idea on what she’s about to ask, he let her continue.
“Did we...” She paused again. “Uhm...”
“No. You’re not my type. Don’t worry.” He said as he poured a rich hot chocolate into a white cup. “There. Everything’s set. You can eat now.”
She disregarded his offer. Instead, she clutched firmly onto her bag and asked with full curiosity. “Why are you... helping me? I mean, it’s weird. Apart from your name, I know nothing next to that.”
“Let’s just say... I’m glad to be of help.” At the corner of his eye lies the real reason behind this friendly gesture of his. Whatever it is, Hye Min was too dizzy to figure it out. “Here, have some hot chocolate. It’ll help you with your hangover.” He offered.
She didn’t take it. She just stared at the white cup in his hands, unsure of whether to take it or not.
He smirked. She’s so readable. Her face says it all. “You think I’m gonna poison you?” He drank half of the cup and said, “I didn’t die, did I?” Then, he laughed. “Look, if I wanted to harm you, kill you or anything, I would’ve done that while you’re asleep.”
Her firm grip on her bag loosened, went to the washroom first and got out to eat. “Okay. I’m kinda hungry anyway.” She finally agreed. She pulled the chair and began eating. She can’t believe she’s eating with someone, inside his hotel unit, who is practically a stranger to her. He could’ve just ordered food downstairs. Why did he bother preparing all this? Weird.
She tried to hurry eating despite her headache. She felt better after eating. “I’m done. Thank you very much, sunbae.”
“Oppa.” He corrected.
“Yes, oppa.” She laughed. She searched inside her bag and gave her calling card to him. “In case you might need my help.”
He took her card without hesitation. “This might be helpful someday.” He chuckled.
“I’ll get going then.” She bid her farewell. “Thank you very much.”

In no time, she’s at home, tired and messed up. The maids approached her, telling something incoherent or at least, that’s how it sounded to her. She went straight to her bedroom without paying attention to anyone. “Have my bath ready now.” She recalled everything that happened that night. How she got into this mess because of Jungsoo, that stupid guy!
As she stepped out of her bathtub, her sister showed up with a white envelope on her hands. “Something came for you.” Hye Ri grinned. “Read it, hurry.” The excitement is vividly written all over her face.
“I want to sleep first.” She’s still not in the mood to talk or laugh or anything. She needs to be alone. “I really want to sleep. Mind if you leave me first?” She uttered completely ignoring her sister’s restlessness.
Hye Ri was, of course, disappointed. So, she quietly left the room. She understands that her sister can be so moody at times.
Meanwhile, Hye Min picked up the envelope and took the paper out.
Hye Min,
You’ve probably swore never to talk to me or hit me the next time you saw me. What I’m going to tell you right now might even make you want to kill me at the very moment.
Remember when I said I never loved you? I lied. I did. I just didn’t have the guts to tell you that I do love you, I’ve learned to, as a friend. I don’t know if I would be able to bear with the pain I’ve caused you. The real reason why I got close to you is because I wanted you to help our family’s company. I even asked you to be my girl. Believe me, I tried to love you the way you want me to but it's just so impossible. When I found out that they were able to manage without your company’s help, I just couldn’t tell you.
Please, find someone who will love you the way you deserve. Find someone who deserves you so much more, someone you can make you so happy that you’ll forget I even existed.
I am very, very, very sorry.
No sender’s name was written but from the handwriting she could tell... it’s from Jungsoo.
