How Rude it is to put on invites for a son's 1st birthday the type of toys I want for him??!?! Please ask around ( Read more... )

I do believe you have the right to monitor the toys that you give your child to play with. I just didn't and don't feel it's appropriate to try to monitor what people are giving as gifts. Maybe I'm old fashioned but I just feel it's a gift and the thought is more important. If I want my son at age 8 to smile and graciously accept the hand knitted socks Auntie Irene gives every year it's a lesson I need to demonstrate and embrace from the begining as well.
