Cutting out wheat made me think WAY more healthily about food. It really broadens your horizons when you can't just throw every meal on top of pasta or bread.
Of course, it's much easier to avoid when eating wheat actively makes you feel like crap rather than just thinking it's a good idea to avoid it.
Wheat and Dairy are said to be great food avoiders. Sigh. Pasta with a nice cream sauce. I could die happy... and fat. ;) hehe.
When I was pregnant, it got me to avoid a bunch of things or I would throw up. I want to be pregnant feeling again! :) heh.
I am going to sit down and look at what I eat. I am a bit blurry on wheat as in: Can I eat oats? Is that okay? what about semolina? what about other things that are 'bread makers' but not wheat? help!
I just know what's not okay for me. Semolina is wheat. There are other forms of bread you can get that are gluten free, and there's fantastic brown rice based pasta, but if what you're trying to make is a lifestyle change, having substitutes for the things that enable you to eat unhealthy doesn't really help. I ate a lot healthier before I found pasta I could eat or ersatz bread.
