Thank you! Yeah, I know what you mean. There's times where angst stops feeling masochistic and just plain hurts, but I'm glad you came around to read this anyway. And I feel honored by your praise; I thought long and hard on how to convey Altair and Malik's characters effectively and I'm glad I seem to be successful.

I like this! Very in character (like the_everbright said) and not too fluffy or unbelievable at all! Poor Altair... I actually kinda like the fics where he or Malik let their guard down... showing some real emotion! The last bit is very touching as well <3

And yeah, assassin daughter! For some reason I never pictured Altair having a daughter, I like it!!

I feel like a daughter would really soften Altair up - I mean, canonically, he has sons (three, I think), but hey, that's laaater... *dismissive handwave*
