Friday night I had to spend a prolonged amount of time at Crest Diner while my boyfriend and his friend tried to indoctrine a faltering junkie on the wisdom of AA. Boy was it boring to listen to him explain why he should use and why AA wasn't comfortable for him. A third of the triangle of AA is "service" to which I am not a part of yet am through

I went to AA and NA a total of, like, three times in my life.

I hated it, andit just made me want to go out and drink and do drugs afterward. I don't know what it was about it, but it never worked for me.

I got clean on my own, and with the help of my husband I've stayed that way. Consequently, I have lost alot of patience for addicts and their ilk. Your BF sounds like a caring , patient person which is cool...but I just couldn't do it.

Glad you feel better and didn't dtrangle the neighbor. ^_^

I'm know I'm being a snit since both my Dad and bf are former addict/drunks. But maybe I'm more sensitive about it as well.
