It's my birthday! And I'm now officially over the hill.
Every year on my birthday, I ask for presents. (Don't worry; presents for me are very inexpensive...) This year, I have a slightly unusual question to ask:
What are your unfulfilled dreams?
I'm starting that decade that men are supposed to have their mid-life crisis. I'm still figuring out what mine is supposed to be. The typical mid-life crisis -- getting a bad toupee, a red sports car, and a blonde bimbo -- doesn't appeal to me. My natural hair is great, and I would be terribly bored with a bimbo after five minutes. A new car? Okay... a new electric two-seater with enough torque to zoom BETWEEN most gas-powered vehicles does sound like fun.
But more seriously... I miss the ability to travel and spend time in another culture. I'd love to spend time in North Africa (probably Morocco), learning Arabic, to play the 'oud, and to learn calligraphy. Right now, that's my biggest, unfulfilled dream.
What's yours?
