Just as a head's up to everyone--

If you just so happened to grow up during the time of the American Civil Rights Movements of the 1960s, your (white) family hiring a black maid is not something that would be considered revolutionary by any means. I thought having a black made was supposed to be UN-progressive?

Our family has one and it would creep me out (minorities doing menial labor for us just does not feel right), except that she's more of a family friend and my parents mainly employ her just because she needs the work, not because they couldn't do cleaning themselves.
