That is wonderful. I've found that Hermes, more than any of the others, is especially fond of this sort of confirmation - the melding of This World with the Spiritual. Which can be invaluable.

Keys - Romans associate with Mercury. I don't know why but they do.

Perhaps, symbolically, you have the key, but do you know to which door(s) you might use it on? The magician without an audience has no performance to sell. Regardless, a skeleton key is a nice spontaneous gift -- a confirmation that, perhaps, you have been given the answer(s). If you've ever read Douglas Adams, it's like knowing that the answer to the question about the meaning of Life, The Universe, and Everything is "42" -- but without knowing what the question is, the answer is only half the puzzle.

So, what -are- you going to do with a key that symbolically opens any/all doors?
