It really is difficult, especially since I'm at a point now where the way I was doing things for a long time is no longer working (not for me personally, not for the present situation) so I have to find something else. I need more discipline and routine than I'm used to, but I also know it doesn't take much for routine to become a rut and that I need a little more flexibility than that. So its become like a science experiment, adding in a little more routine, a little more flexibility and let's see if it explodes again.
I really am liking the book. And thanks for making me famous! :-)
I definitely agree on the subject of comparing oneself to others. Hard not to do, but it's not really relevant, since everyone functions differently, has different priorities, different divine relationships, etc. I often catch myself feeling bad that I don't have a lot of daily practices like some do, but it has never worked for me - whereas perhaps I do more intense trance sessions instead, which is more relevant to my particular path.
But yeah, it's a long process, definitely an experiment, maybe one we never entirely "solve" since we too will change over time.
You know, maybe it's a little bit of my own bias, but I think Hermes likes games where randomized results (virtual die-rolling) occurs.
I love never being sure exactly what's going to happen based on the game's chances, and the only certainty is that you can keep building yourself up -- but there's still that element of randomness.
You might have a range of 1-4 damage, but with enough training, that might become 2-5, or even 3-6!

If you guys do come up, let me know--I'd love to meet Renee in person, and it would get you guys out of the house. Ellie and I can drive out that way.

And sure, if it does work out that I can visit, we can definitely get together. Will keep you updated.
