Mini Hermes Day and Winter Blues

Jan 20, 2010 05:49

Looks like today is the fourth of the lunar month as well as a Wednesday!* Hermes has a scheduled ritual day (in my new trial routine, he is the only one who does) at the full moon (it was either that or the sixteenth (four times four, you know) which is only the next day, both of which are enough distance away from my other set date that is ( Read more... )

We have flowers, still. I think they stopped for about a week or two, when we had heavy frost (which was super pretty and the gone! Frost and fog; it was amazing). But, the spring flowers are coming. In January. I can't wait until you guys are here. Even if, in person, we don't get along at all, at least you'll be *here* and not in Baltimore anymore.

you keep teasing! I wanna know about the seekrit project! Hurry up and see if it's gonna work and then tell us, you tease!

Does the dry skin last all winter? Is there lotion that helps? Because, you know, you need *more* trouble with sleep, naturally. :o(

Its the dry air that does it. There is something about this apartment that the air seems dry here anyway, it effects Renee too though not as badly as me. And during the winter we need to use a space heater for the bedroom because the heat in the apartment isn't working right, and that just sucks whatever little moisture in the air right out. There can be a similar problem when we run an air conditioner in the summer. I need a humidifier running almost all the time or it gets very unpleasant for me. I've never had this problem quite as badly until I moved in here.

I have two lotions that help, during the day time. But during the day its easy to take care of because I get distracted and can forget discomfort. At night it can be a whole different story, and if the air is particularly dry in there, forget it. I know, its exactly what I need, isn't it? :-P

The Seekrit Projeckt really isn't that exciting, I promise! Its just a little thing, really. I swear!

i agree with not getting too hung up on the standard hellenic calendar. i go with whatever lunar calendar seems basically close to what's going on here and plan my libation days around that. yesterday was my hermes day, as i use the deipnon as my jumping off point and His day is fourth from that. since folks have differing opinions of what noumenia is, it'll never be uniform.
i try to be consistent within my own practice, but even that needs wiggle room.

Yeah, I've discovered too many set days isn't working for me because of how I sleep and my fluctuating energy levels that come about because of that. I'm trying on two set days, and a smaller number of floating days I do during the month when I have the time and energy for it (and if time of day is a factor, when I'm awake at the right time ( ... )
