Give them both hugs for us Becca and so glad Chas is doing better. I have kept Dave informed as well and we have all been quite concerned.

Thank you for the update, Becca. Please remember to keep taking care of yourself as you're helping care for Chas and Bonnie, too.

Much love all around!

Thanks so much for posting here for us non-FB folks! It sounds like Chas is doing spectacularly well (having just been through this with Richard, I actually have some points of comparison).

People do need to realize how exhausted Chas will be, even when he is technically ready for visitors, and keep visits short and simple. Richard was not able to concentrate well enough to play games or even read until about a week after surgery. Chas is moving through the recovery stages faster than Richard did, but he'll still have surprising limitations at this point. Don't let him try to do too much too soon, even if it's just visiting.

Thanks for the contact info - we're planning to send a card. At the rate his recovery is going, I hope it gets to him before he leaves the hospital! All the best to him from all of us.

Excellent news.

When Kevin heard he was at North Memorial, he said "deja vu" as that's where my Dad had his quadruple bypass surgery. Unfortunately my Dad had diabetes and maybe some other health issues that complicated things so he ended up in North Memorial for weeks rather than days, but the folks there are fabulous and the rooms and amenities are excellent as far as hospitals go. I got to know the place rather well. The atrium rooms are very nice. But here's hoping Chas won't have to stay at the hospital for very long!

Thank you so very much for doing an update for us non-FB people. We'll dig up a card and send it along.
