You know my opinion of PETA in general. ( They have about as much credibility as Mr. Cliffvergence. )
They have a tendency to blow things out of proportion and conduct, at best, foul demonstrations (- traumatizing children outside fast food chains for one example -).
Usually, when I find PETA is boycotting a product it instills in me a desire to buy the product. Even if I had no inclination to beforehand.
However, I am going to refrain from buying POM for the moment. Even though it's one of my favorites. I'd like to see any Non-PETA research on the matter.
I am not a big fan of peta in general either but they DO point things out to me that otherwise I might not have heard about - then I am free to reasearch it on my own, etc.

They also state so in their research (do a search on pomwonderful.com for the term "animals").
