So, from what I read on Mary Beth's blog, today is "Blog Against Sexism Day". What an interesting concept(?) Anyways, I've decided to try my hand at "blogging against sexism" just to see how it feels. Here goes ( Read more... )

First point of order...I'M STILL UP TOOOOO!@@@!!!
2nd, the entire time while reading the second paragraph I was waiting for the usual matt janisse backhanded comment, but it never came. I'm sorry for judging your post, but not because I think you're a mean person (cause you're not) you just like to make people feel uncomfortable, ever when for once you're being honest.
Jokes about dead babies aren't really funny (maybe me and mary are the only ones, who knows).
3rd, thanks for bringing back BTBs. I agree that some women make use of their sexuality to get ahead in life, but let's be honest, if you had huge tah-tahs, you'd do it too.
4th I miss you a bunch and am sad that you didn't take off the long weekend. I'm blaming my temporary insanity this week on you, cool? cool.

I don't think anyone who knows you would say that you don't truly love women, matt.

This post was nice to read. Good for you. =)

I am utterly tickled by your post (minus the part about jokes. we are just not going to agree on that). I singled you out because out of all of my friends it seems like you love to take the side of opposition just for the sake of it. So here is my peace offering. An article (if you care to read it) about how studies have shown that a child benefits if the father takes paternity leave (shocking discovery right?)

Thank you for proving me wrong.

hello there. interesting perspectives. some of your thoghts remind me of another person's thoughts that i came across this morning:

"...scatological Humor, laughing at the obscene, although not an exclusively male trait, does point at the reason as to why we would laugh at something so blantently sexist (or in the case of further Chapelle, so blatently racist), but it does indicate something about society, if it is infact obscene in the first place.. we don't laugh because we agree with it as much as it is a nervious expression of digested turmoil, or a disagreement with the absurdity of the claim being made.."

cheers.
