So we're in TN for the week, for G and L's wedding. It's on a Wednesday which is strange but has some kind of meaning for L. I only know it's a fairly inconvenient date for guests but I guess most folks aren't from out of town

WOAH there are two huge pieces of news (to me) here:
1. E and S and the kids moved home to live with J? When did that happen? Do they have jobs? Is J ok with this?
2. Who is living at the house? How did I miss this...oh yeah my head has been at work for the last MONTH.
Glad you are having fun with your fam, good call on avoiding the drama! That is one of the bonuses of both families in one place, you have somewhere to hide if the other side is being crazy-pants.
The move to TN happened this past weekend, and no of course they don't have "jobs", and I have no idea if J is ok with this. My guess is she didn't really get asked, but if she weren't OK with it, she wouldn't have said anything anyway.
E is going to be taking care of their granddad during the day along with taking care of Z, S the kid will be in kindergarten, and their granddad would benefit from a caretaker and so that part seems to work out well. S the dad is still holding down some kind of drama teaching job in SC and so will be driving from TN to SC once per week until he finds a job in TN. He has the emergency cert for education in Math, and TN has less restrictions than SC on how that cert is obtained so he *should* be able to find a teaching gig in the next year or so. Hopefully he can keep it.
C is living with us again. I'll have to share that story offline, but I'm sure you can guess the main points.
