Alo, I have some things to show you...

T-shirt to halter

It used to be a huge yellow T-shirt with this print on the front and sponsors' names all over the back. I cut up the front and back and sleeves, cut off the part of the back with text, and flipped over the bottom half (with the hem) to make the halter back. Then I used parts of the sleeves to make pockets (again using the hem), left the edges unfinished, sewed up the sides, and cut a halter top shape out of the neckline. I braided strips of calico and sewed it to the neckline for the halter. I don't really like that part/I'd redo it if I could, but it is not bad.

The back. Excuse straps, and appreciate pirate boxers plz. ^^

Baby dress from men's buttondown shirt

">

Sorry, I never took before-pictures of the shirt, because I had already cut it up. But it looks like your typical long-sleeved men's shirt, and you can see the pattern...

Kinda free-handed it. I have no kid, nor do I have measurements to go by.

The sides of the dress are gathered for diaper room.

The sleeves are gathered with elastic in the casing. :) The neckline is finished with rose pink satin edging, the waistline is gathered and the back dress top hems are finished with sage green sheer ribbon.

Tiny pocket, made from part of the bodice. :)

Bridesmaid's dress!

My friend recently asked me to be her bridesmaid for her May wedding. The only stipulation was that it had to come from David's Bridal's azalea-colored dress line. Not wanting to shell out $100+ for a color I didn't even like, I headed to eBay, where I proceeded to nab this dress for $1.99 before shipping. :D

The only problem was that it was about 3 sizes too big for me. So I hacked it up down the middle, took off the belt, and put in black-and-white-polka-dot lace-up...

Here is the end result. :) You can't tell, but my shoes match the trim:

Here's how I did it:

I hacked down the middle of my dress bodice, sewed the polka-dot ribbon over the raw edges of the dress to finish them, and reinforced it at the bottom with another strip of ribbon. For someone as impatient as me. I'm pretty impressed with how well I did. :D

Then I punched grommets into it for the lace-up part.

To fasten them I used a hammer. Any sewing that involves hammers is pretty hardcore.

Here's the finished result. I did this the day before the wedding, so it was kind of rushed because I was worried I wouldn't finish. But I knew I had to get it right 'cuz I didn't have anything else to wear otherwise! It went well. :) If I could redo it, I would do the lace-up in a wider, sheer black silk ribbon. I didn't have time to go buy any, though. :\
And the end result still ended up being too big for me (I wear a 0, the dress is a small 6) so I just took the belt straps and sewed them onto the dress top for straps. While the groom was walking down the aisle. Haha. You can see more pictures here.
