It was beginning. Jasmine’s eyes clouded with visions of the future. Physically before her, her granddaughter Mariae stood, but in her vision, Mariae would be in the front lines of the coming war. With the look on her face, the dhampir lady knew what her task was.
“Celestia?” When Jasmine did not reply, Mariae bowed her fair head, beckoning her once more. “Grandmother?”
Jasmine blinked out of her premonition and stared at her granddaughter. She moved toward her and placed her hands on her shoulders. The dhampir then lifted her gaze to meet Jasmine’s golden orbs. They knew what must be done.
“You must tell your father Canaan to prepare to fight of the demons. Even the Sons of Cian must fight for all Evastar is not safe.” Jasmine kissed her granddaughter’s pale forehead and stepped back. She dismissed her quietly before turning away. She heard the light footsteps before the teleportation magic whisked Mariae away. Jasmine sighed and looked down at her hands.
If only she could fight in this Twilight War, she would. But it was not her place. She knew what would be changed if she joined in. Her plans for free will for all would be destroyed. All Evastar would change for the worst if she stepped in now.
