Five hundred twenty-five thousand six hundred minutes,
How do you measure the life of a woman or a man?
Naminé saw the wheels of Roxas’s skateboard. The wheels of his skateboard were rusted. He refused to oil them. Roxas didn’t feel like doing anything anymore. After his college courses were over, he would leave for home without talking to anyone. Even his childhood friend Naminé refrained from coming over these days. She seldom showed her latest artistic creations.
She knew how it hurt Roxas.
She knew better than anyone else.
Roxas came to Art Day. Her work was all over the exhibit, but there was one which stood out to him. The dominant primary color was red.
Red was someone’s color.
Then, there were spots of green. Emerald green.
Roxas ran out without another word. He didn’t stop to tell her anything then.
The fragments pieced themselves together. A single name echoed in her head over and over like a chant.
Axel.
Axel.
Axel was dead.
Roxas never really got over it.
Naminé triggered the memories. Naminé hid the painting under her bed.
It was all her fault if he cried these days.
The wheels of the skateboard would never turn again. So she abandoned it on the street, hoping time could heal the wounds.
“Forgive me, Roxas.”
