SuJu Fic Challenge Theme: 009. Coffee
Summary: Some coffee, a little reminiscing, and a whole lot of cuddling.
“Hae.”
Donghae lifted his head from the back of the couch where he had been resting his body against. Vision coming into focus again, he made out Hyukjae’s blond haired figure and soft smile. A Starbucks coffee, steaming hot, was being held out to him.
Smiling in return, Donghae blinked blearily as he took the cup from Hyukjae’s slightly cold hands and sipped at him, mumbling a “Thank you.”
Hyukjae ruffled his hair and plopped down on the chair beside him, taking a sip of his own straight up black espresso. Donghae uncurled himself from the fetal position he had wrapped himself in the moment they made it to the waiting room of the freezing area backstage and pulled closer to Hyukjae, who was cold as the couch.
Pulling a blanket that was in someone’s - probably Ryeowook’s; the younger always thinks of everything - duffel bag, Donghae draped it over Hyukjae who in turn pulled the insolating blanket up to Donghae’s neck. The blond pulled Donghae closer; wrapping his free arm around the latter’s shoulders.
Donghae leaned his head against Hyukjae’s arm that was embracing him and eased his legs overtop of his lover’s. Sipping at his steaming hot coffee, the brunette relished in the warmth inducing drink that Hyukjae had gone across the street - despite the danger of rabid fans - to buy.
“I liked your hair when it was long,” Hyukjae stated suddenly as he ran a comforting hand through the silk-like strands of brunette hair. Donghae pouted in response.
“Well, I liked your hair better when it was red,” The younger said, sleep and exhaustion long forgotten. Hyukjae chuckled lightly and pulled Donghae into his lap.
“I remember when we were trainees,” Hyukjae reminisced, “There was a time you were lighter.”
“It’s not fat, just so you know,” Donghae retorted, drinking from his coffee again as Hyukjae took a sip from his, “Unlike someone, I’ve been working out.”
Smirking behind the cup, Hyukjae took Donghae’s hand and placed is against the rock-solid abs that was there - obviously forming a six-pack. Donghae’s eyes widened.
“Since when did this happen?” He exclaimed, to which Hyukjae just continued to smirk.
“When you weren’t paying attention,” The older replied, setting his cup carefully on the couch cushion beside him. Donghae did the same, to which Hyukjae had to steady it lest it fell over and spilled all over the couch that was quite obviously not theirs.
Double checking to make sure the coffees wouldn’t spill; Hyukjae grinned that familiar gummy smile and wrapped his arms around Donghae’s waist, pulling the other closer. Letting out a very manly squeak, Donghae braced himself against the back of the couch as Hyukjae buried his face into Donghae’s collarbone, breathing in the vanilla and cinnamon scent that lingered on the brunette’s skin.
Donghae leaned his head forehead a bit, leaning against Hyukjae’s body. Before long, his eyes were closed, and he was hugging Hyukjae around the neck.
“I love you, Hae,” Hyukjae mumbled, feeling Donghae’s warm body pressed against his - even through the clothing.
“Love you too, Hyukkie…” Donghae murmured as exhaustion from the most recent performance overthrew the few sips of caffeine in his system.
Before either of them knew it, they were both out like a light bulb - to which the other members arrived to find both amusing and exasperating.
