So apparently they mean it when they tell you it's not a good idea to procrastinate on the college essay writing. I've written, revised, brooded over, and completely nixed one idea, and have moved on to the second, which is probably the same stupid shit everyone who isn't going to get into college wrote about. Um. Lots of panicking and ( Read more... )

I know how you feel about writing the entrance essay; I went through the same thing. Remember you can send it to me for help/validation like you asked (ckloes01 at saintmarys dot edu) although it won't get back to you till tonight because I have rehersal all afternoon. I'm certain it's not nearly as bad as you think it is, and I'm not just saying that. It's really easy to feel crazed and that you write like crap when you're stressed.

You can do this! You're a very good writer, but now you're a very stressed writer who thinks she's no good. I am trying to be encouraging and failing ugh. <3<3

No, no. The encouragement is appreciated! I am pretty certain I know what I'm doing now, sort of. I've got the pieces, at any rate, but I'm having some trouble making them work together (like I always do when I write things in idea-blobs rather than straight through!) I'm going to futz with it some more tonight, but tomorrow I am sending it to you. And if I get wibbly about doing so, you should stab me and make me send you whatever I have, regardless. *nods* And thank you; just yeah...thank you. <3 like a bazillion.

I will threaten you with my witching powers if you don't send it to me TOMMORROW. Unless you have a perfectly good reason like your computer gets destroyed or something. NO WIBBLIES. JUST SEND IT.

You're so very welcome. I know it will turn out all right; I just hope you see how all right that it is. <3<3 I'm sure it's good and I await it with bated breath.

To get into college, you need to have an above-average essay, that is, be better than the average person.

The average person can't distinguish between they're, there, and their.

You're all set! Don't stress out.

That made me feel so much better, you have no idea. XD I think my problem is I just keep reading too many brilliant sample essays, and then I forget that they're brilliant samples for a reason (in that they're the most outstanding of the outstanding).

And I actually wore my They're, There, Their shirt today. :]

and besides, I know several people in college that are not brilliant in any way, shape, or form whatsoever. So you've already got them beat :D
