I actually meant to write this last night, but I didn't get around to it ( Read more... )

Unfortunetely, my friend, I cannot help you. All throughout high school I was one of the 'elite' in the field of procrastination. I believe the best essay I ever wrote - Hamlet: Smiling Villain? - was completed at 3am the morning before it was due. I recieved something like 93% and got filed away in my teacher's 'example essay' folder.

It's like all the pressure just sort of built up and then, instead of driving me absolutely batshitinsane it wrote all my essays for me. XD

What if you got someone else to help you enforce? Say 'Mum...I need to finish _______. Do not feed me/allow me this that or the other until it is done!'

That is not such a bad idea. Only I'm sure my parents would abuse their power, or at least hold me to me whatever I'd said I'd do. Which is the point, yes. But, um, still scary!

It's not such a big concern now, but I am honestly absolutely terrified of the infamous College Workload, which I've been given reason to believe will include about five thousand times more work per week than I've done in all my life, oh no.

I am the same way though I do not worry quite so much. I enjoy procrastinating and have refined it to the delicate art that you speak of. I think I inherited the skill from my father who used to do whole art projects in college while drinking three hours before they were due and get amazing results ( ... )

It is this college thing that worries me. Will I still be able to procrastinate safely in college? If it's possible then I suppose there's really not much of a problem.

I will never read self-help books, I promise! (The threat was all for effect, I assure you.) It would be nearly as bad as reading smutty romance novels. Except, not close at all. But the next worse thing.

No one I know procrastinates more than I do. Talk to me if you want to hear my stories.

As far as I'm concerned, you're allowed to intensely procrastinate as long as you realize it's a problem and no one's getting hurt from it. Save self control for when you need it, enjoy being a teenager because you can and you have everything you need turned in so don't worry about it so muuuuch!
