The plan for tonight was to get a head-start on my Inferno essay (on Dante's nastier diction, tentatively titled When the Shit Fits). Turns out there were too many distractions, namely a veritable inundation of international mail. I'm so so surprised that people are getting my gifts so early. My friend from England informed me that he got his yesterday when the people at the post office assured me that it wouldn't arrive until after the holidays.

I am quite glad to have received it! I'm amazed it arrived so soon, as well. I have no faith in the postal system, on principle. (What that principle is, I am not certain, but!)
