well i get that u believe u take a more open minded approach and that ur mom seems really narrow minded and i guess, since ur so open minded, take a look at ur mom..shes beingg overprotective because she just doesnt want u to do something stupid, which u wont, but in the eyes of a parent ull always be vulnerable and i know that sounds stupid, but its the truth..and everyone gets in fights with their parents over situations just like this and it just has to do with us gaining more independence, but u gotta compromise with ur parents because if u take things slowly u can gain their trust a little bit at a time...<

Ok, my mom is so very similar to yours!! She always yells about how not to go outside with wet hair, or wear a sweater when it's below 6o degrees. And she doesn't like to lose arguments. She has me on strict lockdown.. no boys, no parties, very little friends can come over. Now, my brother, is the opposite.. He started smoking a couple months ago, he drinks, gets high, and is still allowed to go to parties and such, which I dont understand. *enough background... I may have a small solution*
If your mom goes into the whole gov. spele again, just tell her that they do believe it. I have friends who get tax money (from the gov.) My dad even knew a girl who was working full time from the age of 13, and the government let her. All it takes is a certain document and a signature. I'd then explain that you dont do drugs, or drink, etc, and I have to say, I like your 2-week party plan.. that's very efficent ^^
