Jack sacrificed his freedom for Chloe. Audrey is dead and I am glad she is gone. I always wanted her character to disappear, not die, but just get off the canvas of the show. I always felt her character interrupted the flow of the show, if that makes any sense to anybody else but me. But Jack calling Chloe his best friend, grabbing her hand, smiling at her and then going to the Russians, threatening them if they hurt her or his family and turning to look at her with a sad smile one last time was just the saddest and beautiful thing.

Bring on the fan fic because who knows if we will ever see them together again on screen.

I think it proved once and for all where Jack's heart really lay. Girlfriends flit in and out of his life but Chloe will always be there. To all those people I've seen saying Audrey was the love of his life...please.. he was with her a few months years ago and a couple of days in between. Chloe has been there constantly and sacrificed so much for him.
I saw something Jon Cassar said about how the Jack and Chloe scenes are always his favourites so he is a true Chlacker too!
I'm hoping for some new fanfics too . Those final scenes were chlack inspired gold.

I think it is as good of an ending we could have hoped for. I am really banking on another season or movie. The show runner makes it sound like there will be more, but they haven't finalized the deal as of yet. It almost seems like they are in negotiations. I read on a message board about how fans are starting to realize Chloe is his true love, which is why Audrey was expendable. I am so happy she is gone, but honestly they have now killed all of his love interest minus the sister in-law, whom he just flirted with. I would like to know the writers reasons for being so repetitive. MLR said that at one point she was dead, but then they changed it to allow for additional seasons. We know now at least that Chloe is safe until they end the show for good ( ... )

I NEED Belcheck to come back. Jack, Chloe and Belcheck would make the greatest team. I love how loyal he is to Jack. I imagine Jack told him to keep an eye on Chloe while he's gone, just like he told Chloe to check in on his family. And I bet Belcheck can totally see they're in love. :)

I was completely shocked that they did that to Audrey. I had an inkling they might from the season finale promos, but I never thought they'd actually do it. It literally blew me away. That being said, I understand what the top comment meant by wanting her to disappear. Never hated her character, but she just never fit into Jack's life like they tried to make it. I felt awful for President Heller, though. No one, not even Jack, cared for Audrey like he did and now she's going to simply...disappear. Broke my heart ( ... )

I agree with everyone else. I am feeling quite satisfied with the ending! I'm so glad that Jack finally admitted to Chloe how much she means to him. It may not be romantic, but it is still really sentimental and sweet. My favourite moment was when he grabbed her hand. And did everyone else notice how he smiled after she walked away? Maybe he's happy he was able to do something for her, instead of the usual where Chloe always helps him. I think what really frustrated me with the Jack/Chloe relationship before was that it always seemed like Chloe was doing things for Jack, but he never really showed his gratitude. I mean.. yes, he said "thanks" many times.. but it wasn't until the season 8 finale and this season where we start to see his "thanks" as more than words, and coming straight from the heart. Thank goodness we got to experience that. However, I think I really want Jack to see Chloe as more than just his "best friend." I'd like to see him "open up his eyes" to see how great they'd be together as a couple! With that said, please ( ... )

Just a note to the anonymous peeps, and there's a lot of you, I have to unscreen all your comments because you aren't signed in. I'm doing the best I can, but I'm worried I'll miss one so I apologize if I do. I know the season is over and you probably don't want to bother making an account, but consider it for my sake, please. ;)

I also just made some caps of the ending on my Tumblr blog. I'll be doing some GIFs later tonight. It was an amazing and beautiful scene. I'll comment on it all later when I have more time to write. Glad to see everyone is happy with the ending. I thought it was the best Chlack moment we've had to date!

I love your blog! The final scene between Jack and Chloe was not tv gold it was tv platinum encrusted with diamonds! Mary Lynn looked lovely too without all that goth make up. Even though I never liked Audrey I thought her death and her father's reaction to it was very sad and beautifully acted.
Kiefer's emotional responses were perfection, from uncontrolled rage to undisguised love for Chloe. I know he didn't say the words but it was so obvious and their hand holding was just perfect, subtle yet full of meaning.
They just have to make another season showing Jack being rescued from the Russians, hopefully instigated by Chloe and helped by Belcheck.
It was good to see Chloe out in the field this season and she more than held her own in her dealings with the various bad guys.I would like to see more of this if and when there are more seasons.
I really feel that, at last, Chlack has been properly recognised!

I would love a Chloe and Belcheck break out but I feel like Jack has to stay a while and be released on their terms or else he's on the run again, you know? That's getting pretty old. Unless they break him out and he and Chloe move somewhere together and change their identities and fall in love (or admit they're in love I should say). ;)

Yes, very true. I kind of wish Jack would get a job again rather than always being on the run. I miss the old CTU days and would like to see Jack and Chloe back there running the place though that's probably not on the cards! Even if they did do that no doubt Kate Morgan would be working there being pushed as Jack's latest love interest (rolls eyes in true Chloe fashion). Oh and thanks to your blog I now have that Queen song in my head all the time! It is competing with Avril Lavigne's When Your'e Gone my other chlack fave!
