Oliver sat at the kitchen table, deeply engrossed in a book that lay open before him, his eyebrows furrowed with concentration. He blinked when he heard Chloe's voice and he looked at the clock above the stove, raising his eyebrows with surprise when he saw it was well past dinner time. Raking a hand through his hair, he rose to his feet. "In here."

Chloe patted Mac as she made her way into the kitchen and arched her eyebrows at the startled expression on Ollie's face, "hey," she cocked her head slightly, "everything okay?"

He offered her a small smile. "Yeah, everything's fine. I just didn't realize what time it was," he admitted, moving to her side and kissing her cheek. "How was your day?"

"Not bad," she told him, lifting a hand to his arm and smiling at him before glancing at the book on the table, "what had you so engrossed?"

He opened her bottle of water and slid it over to her as he sat down across the table. He took a drink of his own water. "She was pretty adamant against seeing a counselor."

"I know..." she said quietly, opening her own bottle, "but after talking to her and considering she's still having nightmares every night as far as I can tell, I really think she needs to and this way at least she will be getting something in return.

He nodded a little, looking down at the table for a moment. "Do you think it would help if I tried talking to her?" His voice was quiet.

"It might," she said quietly, leaning back against her chair, "letting her know yiu're okay with Ian spending the night as long as she's doing better."

"All things considered," she said quietly, pressing a kiss to the corner of his mouth as she shifted closer and wrapped her arms around his back, "that's the same thing right now."

She held his gaze, "and before I do agree to anything, I'll talk to the doctor and make sure it's okay."

He drew in a breath and let it out slowly, nodding and wrapping his arms around her. "All right."

"Thank you," she said quietly, "I know you worry, but if I manage to get a promotion before the baby is born, my schedule will be much more flexible and I'll be able to pick and choose my stories more, which will give me more time to spend with you guys."

Oliver rested his forehead against hers. "I know how important your career is to you, Chloe, and I would never try to stand in the way of that. I don't ever want you to feel like you're just Oliver Queen's life. Because that couldn't be further from the truth."
