The gala and all that followed it had been a success, they had spent the past three days studying every angle of the case that they could, they had been so focused that the tension, make that sexual tension from earlier that night have been easily ignored.
Now, thanks to evidence they got on their meeting with the judge, Chloe had written the article that she knew was going to at the very least, get published by the Star City Gazette in case her editor didn't think it was relevant enough for the Planet and they had found enough new evidence, which had been handed to a team of lawyers of Oliver's choice and the case of domestic violence that had ended up in the death of that poor woman was going to be reviewed and, they were confident, would get the bastard convicted for murder.
All in all, it had been a productive weekend, Chloe had gone in to work as soon as they landed and had handed in her article, she would have an answer in the morning. But for now, she was getting home, and for some reason, Oliver had decided to come back to Metropolis with her, not that she was complaining, but as the elevator doors opened, she knew this would be the first time since the gala that they were going to be together. Alone. And not neck deep into research. In fact, right now, they had nothing to do but to wait for answers, from her editor and from their lawyers.
