This remains one of my all-time favorite Chloe/Oliver stories.
I love the complexity and depth you give Oliver and, even more so, to other JLA/SV characters that never enjoyed the kind of screen time necessary to give them full form. It's wonderful to see Bart, for example, as more than a carefree caricature. Not that I don't enjoy the more usual portrayal of Bart as comic relief with a voracious appetite with a side of teenage crush on Chloe--I absolutely do. But building him into so much MORE takes a tremendous amount of work. That's one of the qualities I like best about your writing in this story... the sort of unblinking, unapologetic focus on the characters, the slow unraveling of the story.
It does absolutely nothing for my nerves, of course, and even less for my patience. All in all, it's the best angst-ridden fun that a girl can have while similultaneously needing an adult beverage to get through the next plot turn LOL!
Howdy stranger, it's been a while! (... also been a while since I've written 'howdy'...)
Glad to see you're still typing/writing away. And you're really pulling everyone into this aren't you? I'm curious to see where the next break in the case is going to come... because I'm pretty sure I'm stumped right now. Great chapter though and I look forward to seeing more posts from your journal.
Great chapter. I was so happy when I saw an update to this story. I only discovered Chollie fiction this year and this story was among the first stories I read that got me totally hooked. Keep up the good work. You're a truly talented writer.
I really feel for Oliver because of everything he'd gone through to find her only to get sent back every time he gets too close to his goal. That story is like a very complicated puzzle and Oliver is entirely focused on it, he's forgotten everything else and we know he's willing to do everything he can to find her. Fortunately, there's only 8 chapters left. Hope he finds her on time! Amazing writing, by the way! :)
