Prologue
Why had she been having these thoughts and dreams about him? It was as if Oliver Queen had invaded her space without knowing it. He was her constant thought, it seemed like everything was all about him.
Didn't help the fact that they had been working together with the JLA, and ever since then it seemed like her attraction for him grew even more. It wasn't that he was smoking hot, but the fact was he got her. He understood her, he laughed at her jokes, he cared....and he was really sweet, well when he wanted to be.
She had only had a crush once before, and that was with Clark. Of course that hadn't gone over so well, but it was for the better because now her best friend was engaged to her cousin. She knew it had all gone great, but now here she was crushing on this billionare who of course would probably never even think of her.
Oliver was known for having beautiful models into his life, and she was no where near that. She felt like she would probably never live up to what those girls had. And of course they all just wanted him for his money....whores. Chloe couldn't help but think that.
She was cut out of her daydreaming and thoughts when someone spoke to her, waving a hand in her face.
"Chloe...earth to Chloe!"
Chloe shook her head and looked over to see who it was. Oliver had been staring at her with his arms up shaking them uncontrollably; trying to get her attention.
"Oh, sorry...um what's up?"
He smiled and shrugged "Oh so you can hear me? I thought you had gone deaf there a second.
Victor is asking if you have the scans up." Oliver smiled at her befuddled expression.
"Ummm, wow my mind is so not on track today...uh I'll have them for him in 2 seconds."
She couldn't just tell him it was his fault for being so sexy and making her have all these conflicting feelings for him. So she tried to play it cool.
He smiled at her and nodded. "It's not like you to not be on your game....are you ok?" Truth was Oliver cared for Chloe, she had become such a great ally and friend, but there was more to it than that. He just couldn't place it.
"I'm fine..." she tried flashing a golden smile but it seemed not to work.
"You don't look fine, your head has been everywhere but here lately. Guy troubles?"
Chloe had been in the middle of taking a sip of her coffee when he had spoken those words, she had managed to spit almost the whole entire thing on his face. She felt her cheeks start to turn red.
Why did she have to be herself right now?
"I'm soooo sorry!" She stood up and grabbed a napkin off the desk and started patting his cheeks.
He had his eyes closed while rubbing the coffee from his face.
"So uh wrong question to ask?"
They both laughed a little and stared at each other.
She had her hand on his face and for some reason she couldn't take it off of him, it was like it was superglued to him. And it seemed like he wasn't protesting.
He grabbed the napkin from her hand and their fingers touched; electricity shot straight through both of them. Oliver squinted his eyes and stared at her, gazing at her as if not sure what the hell was going on.
All he could think was Had Chloe always been this attractive? He shook his head.
"Uh I should get back to work...and um you should too."
Chloe furrowed her brow, she was so confused had they not just shared a moment? Was her mind playing tricks on her?
She hated how she overanalyzed everything. Maybe it was just a fluke and she had seen things differently, but for a second she had thought that they shared something. And that they were both attracted to each other. She definitely knew she was...but maybe it was best just to stop thinking about him altogether.
She wasn't sure how she would do it, but she had to.
Oliver looked over at her and stared as she got up to clean the desk that had coffee on it as well. He couldn't help but notice her figure, she had a beautiful body. His eyes traveled from her neck, to the form of her breasts that were perfect size...at least he thought so. Then his eyes quickly ran over her curves that he could just picture in his mind. And last but not least they stopped right on her behind, he couldn't help but stare at it, had she always been this good looking and he had never really noticed?
How could any man not notice her? He shook his head, what the hell are you doing Ollie? Get your head together....Chloe is off limits......or was she? he couldn't help thinking these thoughts.
But one thought kept going over his mind....if they were together, he was pretty sure it would be a 'relationship' and he couldn't handle that. He had to stick to what he always knew, which was basically: one night stands or flings...never full on relationships.
He had done that before and right now the only 'commitment' he wanted was to the JLA and him being 'Green Arrow'
He looked over once more at her curvy body and looked back at the screen before she noticed him looking at her.
She shifted her gaze over at him as she continued cleaning, she couldn't help feel like he was staring at her so she continued to clean.
Why did she have all these thoughts about him? Why couldn't she just do her work and not think of Oliver in this light.
She was going to have to come face to face with reality, that Ollie would never ever date someone like her.
She sighed, sitting back down to finish the rest of her work.
