Public Transit

I used to think that some day I'd grow up and get a car.  In the last few years, I've been taking notice of everyone who I know who is older than me and doesn't have a car.  There's an Arcadia University Professor who has made a commitment to only ride transit.  There's the choir director who used to direct a group I was in, but is now working with ( Read more... )

I don't remember the numbers, but I did some research a few months ago and figured out that while flying was better than driving solo, driving was better if you had three or four people in the car (I don't remember how two worked out).

I like trains, too; I just wish they were a bit faster.

Yeah, all of them work out better with more people, obviously.

I feel OK about hitching rides with people in proportion to how much I know them, and
how little they're going out of their way. Insofar as this is more efficient in
some cases, this is OK, but I don't want to be a perpetual mooch.

I've joined PhillyCarShare, though, like the rest of the universe, so hopefully I can be somewhat more often the provider of transport / more independent.

My boss invited me to a fundraiser for the Clean Air Council, at one of the houses on Boathouse Row! I really wanted to go...but I went to Perdues instead.
