So you haven't seen Broadchurch yet? Oh, you really should see it; it's fascinating.

As for how it ends... I was surprised that (according to some comments I've come across on the internet) some viewers found the ending predictable. I wouldn't say it was really predictable (although I have to admit I guessed who the killer was by the end of episode 7 - which is a pretty good result for me, as I usually fail to figure such things out at all).
And after all, as far as I can tell, the main focus in this series is not on the whodunnit aspect, but on the psychological one and the impact of the events on that community and individual people in it... and this is shown really well.
