I'm an expert on 1960s counterculture... but retain no knowledge of the rest of American history, because it is not made up of a million and one steps to becoming more and more democratic; it is made up of the footprints of a bunch of corrupt, greedy sonuvabitches (many of whom cheated on their wives) and their documents justifying this. just kidding... I am bitter, and uninformed.

at risk of sounding depressed and hopefully uncharacteristic of myself, #1 on my list of things that are hard to maintain is unexplained happiness... followed by consistent sleeping patterns. despite the fact that summer has officially commenced, in my eyes, and that the actual solstice is so close that I can feel it in my bones, my circadian rhythms are still offbeat. my lunar rhythm's offbeat, any other rhythm that I may possess is probably offbeat too.

it is 4:27am and with every chirp I hear, the less coherent my words become. forgive me, though I'm not too sure how coherent I usually am.

lately, I have found that my favorite fictional characters tend to be green-eyed. this does not include anyone in Cat's Cradle, which I'm reading right now. I've decided that if I were one of Vonnegut's characters, I'd be a follower of Bokononism. a (made-up) religion based entirely around lies, not so unfamiliar, is it? who are your sinookas tangled with?

subtitles do not bother me.
even though more people get killed (or eaten...) in Delicatessen, it is less disturbing than Leolo and also more unrealistic, which means I like it more. Leolo made me discover El Topo, which is something I probably will not be able to stomach. like Eraserhead. mutant "babies", cooked dinners whose limbs move and also bleed, puffy cheeked pale girls singing about how everything is fine in heaven: not my thing. when you are compelled to say "what the fuck" far too many times in far too short an interval, you should probably turn off your television
what is your reaction to this? if it is like mine, it will contain two words and one obscenity
