I hate when people do not take me seriously everything is happening the way it is supposed to be happening, always, ouch no one has ears and the people that do have ears do not have a heart
well... I am young and fickle. I think I am riding the border between determinism and fatalism, if that's possible. I guess I just believe the phrase "everything happens for a reason," but I'm struggling with where the reason comes from.
p.s. I wish I were familiar with Candide, but I'm not.
the i hope i'm not conflating the term reason with something you didn't intend. perhaps the 'reason' that effects arise is not any particular point of view. couldn't it just be causes and conditions that precede the effect? then everything happens for a reason, but there's no particular sense that it's "supposed" to happen by some intelligent design or purpose particularly. or were you feeling more that things happen for a reason, with the sense that reason has intent and purposefulness?
I apologize for the delayed response... yes, that's mostly what I was thinking, that it's "the causes and conditions that precede the effect." I've realized I'm actually against the belief that there's a purpose/intelligent design to things, life seems more sad that way, I think.
