I'm glad that Finland is more or less working out. Maybe the partying will die down a bit once classes begin?

I will read your Talia/Bane, because that sounds like a fantastic read. :)

I'm frankly a wee bit worried about the dubcon and underage elements, but I really don't see any other way to write that pairing. It's like Lolita if Lolita were - well, a supervillain, really.

Well, I meant fantastic read because I like gritty, plotty fics, and this is going to be a dark read. It's going to be a tangly, nasty gut-wrenching ride, which I expect for the Pit or the League of Shadows. This is more of a darkfic pairing, and I look forward to seeing your take on it. I think I'd be more troubled if you suggested fluff or lightness and rainbows for those two.

It's pretty fascinating to read about an outsider's POV of Finland, and I actually agree with all of your assessments.

Also, I think the reason we're confused about people choosing Finland as an exchange destination is because we tend to see Finland as a fairly boring country. I mean, I love my home land my even I can't think of much to do around here, especially for a year. Even more especially up in the middle/northern areas (which is probably my metropolitan area snobbery showing).

There is totally stuff to do in Finland. Like rummage around in the woods behind one's student housing and pick about half a kilo of raspberries.

And one wild strawberry!

Sometimes when I go out hacking with my horse we go through a path that's overgrown with raspberries, so I can nom on them straight from the saddle.

There's still loads of wild raspberries on campus and a lot of unripe ones left on the bushes I was visiting. Hopefully I can get enough of them that I can make jam with them. It'd be good.
