Day 4: Uchi

Aug 04, 2010 15:38

Title: Black and White
Pairing: teeny tiny hint of RyoUchi
Rating: G
Summary: What happens when everyone suddenly disappears?
Author's Notes: Yeah, I know that Uchi's gone and there's no way he's coming back with the way things are going but just let me hold on to this delusion a little while :).

It seemed like something out of a fairytale. They were in a wide field - all the eight of them. Bright smiles filled their faces. Even Ryo was smiling brightly. It was hard not to smile. The sun was shining, there were food laid out and most importantly, all of them were present.

Ryo was sitting next to him, hugging him tightly with his left arm as he held a plate with his right. Somewhere in the background, he could hear Subaru, Yoko and Hina arguing about some pudding. Okura and Yasu were rolling around on the field, lost in their own world. And as for Maru, well he didn’t know what Maru was doing exactly but he seemed as if he was talking to the butterflies.

“Hiro.”

Uchi looked at Ryo who had called out his name. He tilted his head to the right.

“Hmmm?”

The older guy stroked his hair absently.

“Wouldn’t it be great if we could stay like this forever?”

Uchi leaned on him, loving the warmth and scent that was coming off Ryo. He inhaled deeply as he closed his eyes.

“Yes, it would be great.”

He could feel Ryo’s smile on the top of his head. The stroking continued for a little while before it stopped abruptly.

And the next thing he knew, he fell over. Ryo who was next to him just a few moments ago was now gone. Uchi’s eyes darted around the field.

It had all turned into black and white.

The trees were no longer in deep green. It was black. The former azure sky had turned to a dull shade of grey, the clouds a sickly shade of white.

He turned his head left and right. There were no signs of the others. Panic started to rapidly build in his chest as he stood up.

“Ryo! Tacchon! Yasu!”

“Subaru! Yoko! Hina! Maru!”

His shouts went unanswered.

Uchi couldn’t believe this was happening. It had to be a prank right? A very elaborate unrealistic plan.

“It’s not funny, you guys!”

Still, nobody responded.

Uchi looked around again. The field stretched out for miles and from his position, he could see that nothing else existed besides the oddly coloured trees, grass and the sky.

But still, he ran. He didn’t know where he was running to but he did. He had to find the others. Maybe this would all turn to be one big joke after all.

But the more he ran, the more helpless Uchi felt. It all looked the same. The trees didn’t change, the sky didn’t change, and the grass remained the same underneath his sneakers.

And it all came to a point where Uchi couldn’t take it anymore. He was tired. His knees went weak as he sank down on the cool soft earth. He covered his face with both his hands and closed his eyes.

“This couldn’t be happening,” he mumbled.

He shook his head in denial as he grabbed his hair with both his fist.

“This is not happening!”

He sobbed as he shouted out those words.

He didn’t want this. He wanted his friends back.

He wanted to hear Yoko, Subaru and Hina’s silly arguments.

He wanted to see Yasu and his ridiculous outfits again.

He wanted to see that lazy smile of Okura’s.

He wanted to hear Maru’s paaaaaan! again.

And most of all, he wanted to see Ryo - to touch him, to smell him to hear his laughter.

But as he knelt there on the ground, he felt that those things aren’t going to happen now.

In this black and white world, he was alone.
