Hina, you're gonna give me you're eyebrow of 'wth' after reading this. W0rld, you'll just laugh. Blythe... I think you'll be the most entertained by this.
I had a strange day at work last night. It started out with me even going to work, because it was my day off, so that made me a little annoyed to begin with. It meant I had to nap instead of finishing watching my soccer match, and making me miss the Supernatural finale, which is just wrong. I'm downloading the ep, but I missed what was apparently a great match so I'm still a little upset. Anyway, while at work, I ended up working with C, which was great 'cause I don't really work with him a lot and we've started having actual conversations. He's really quiet and its fun watching him be social, so I was ok with that. Working with C however, meant I couldn't work with S, who is my anime buddy at work, and that kinda sucked 'cause I haven't really talked to him for a while. So during work, C and I started talking, blah, blah blah.....and it turns out we're both Trekkies. Which is great because I haven't accidentally meant another Trekkies since high school, and Bret and I would always fight over all the shows. Also, C was so animated it was fun just to see him that excited about anything, but the fact that we kept finding out we had the same favorite series/movie/captain was a little surreal. And SO MUCH FUN. We kept geeking out the rest of the night. It was great.
OK, so during lunch S and I actually sat together but continued with our not talking. S was reading a book and I was texting and trying not to eavesdrop on a very detailed conversation about stuff I didn't wanna hear from another table. So in my texts, I had some responses from hinazuke about my wanting to go to AX for the Power Ranger Reunion (yes, ok, I know, just shut up), and I decided to share my wishful thinking with S since its the kind of thing he gets a kick out of. So then S says he's never been to a Con and I say AZ is great and fun and that I wish I could go this year and he say " I'll go with you."
So this is where my day got really weird.
The rest of the conversation goes something like this:
Me(shocked): Oh, great.I've been trying to see if I could get a family vacation to LA so I could at least go for the day-
S:-no, I'll go with you.
Me: OK, um great...
and then we start talking about how long we stay, how we get there, and start thinking about budgeting.
So, I guess I'm going with S to LA for AX.
I'm still in shock about that.
Probably because this is the guy I had a small crush on before I knew he like anime, and that his second job is that of a substitute teacher, and that in his spare time he writes.
And now I learn we'd be sharing a room, hundreds of miles from home, for three nights.
I feel like my life is regressing to the point where I'd fit in as a recurring character in an '80's sitcom.
I'm now gonna go watch SN, 'cause the torrent just finished downloading, and I need something that distracts me form...everything.
