How does this community work?
Though this challenge has never been a perfectly organized or well oiled machine, we do try to follow a general time line. Ideally, new challenges will be posted by a moderator on Sundays. Members of the community can then interpret the prompt however they'd like and write a ficlet featuring a crossover relationship. Usually writers have two weeks to post the ficlet to the community in a new post, before the mod posts a voting poll on Friday. Members are then asked to vote for their favorite ficlet, while participants are encouraged to comment on the same post with an idea for the next prompt. The results are then posted on Sunday, alongside the new challenge chosen by the winner.

What are the rules?
All ficlets must be between 200-500 words and revolve around a crossover relationship from an allowed fandom-whether it be romantic, friendly, or a antagonistic. They must also include the given prompt in some (however abstract) way.

What are the allowed fandoms?
Alias, Bones, Buffy (and Angel), Chuck, Dollhouse, Everwood, Doctor Who, Firefly, Friday Night Lights, Gilmore Girls, Glee, Gossip Girl, Harry Potter, Heroes, How I Met Your Mother, One Tree Hill, Roswell, Smallville, Supernatural, The Big Bang Theory, The OC, The Office, Twilight, Vampire Diaries, and Veronica Mars

Can I write for a fandom that is not on the approved fandom list?
Maybe. To get temporary approval to use an unapproved fandom in a challenge, just comment on that challenge's post. If enough interest is shown in that fandom, it can be considered for permanent approval. The goal is to not only get your creative juices flowing, but to produce crossover fiction everyone can enjoy.

How do I tag my post?
If you're submitting a ficlet for the challenge, make sure to tag the entry with *all fiction. The round (prompt: week twenty-eight) and author (user: hide_r) should also be included. If you do not yet have an author tag, make sure to mention that in the post. A mod will create one and add it to the post for you.

How should I format the subject line of my post?
If you're posting a ficlet, please use the following format in the case of a straight couple... Ficlet: Title (Girl/Boy) Rating. In the case of a same-sex couple, please list the names alphabetically.

How should I format the post itself?
We're not huge sticklers on this, so long as you don't abuse the bold tag or add big images outside of a cut, we're pretty happy. However, below is the format we suggest.

Title
Fandoms: I'll list all those that apply here.
Pairings: The main/featured couple.
Characters: The main couple, as well as other signficant characters.
Rating: G, PG, PG-13, R, or NC-17
Word Count: Something between 200-500.
