Several displaced residents from affected gulf coast cities are now living with relatives in Canada and Canada has made special arrangements to get them here, accomodate their needs (i.e. public and secondary and post secondary school admissions - no fees!!!).
We also sent down three ships of supplies and dozens of uniformed service men/women... plus a large contingent of red cross workers.
Canada was, curiously, in New Orleans rescuing trapped citizens with a complete medical team on the day that FIMA was saying "Oh, are there people there?" (the team from Canada just up and went... uninvited and without asking permission... they just went and started doing good work).
