Quite true, in all respects. Is it right to have "no regrets" where friends are concerned? I dunno. I suppose we all knew this would happen, to an extent, that is, that we'd drift appart. Sure, we still hang out occasionally, but the sense that we know each other through and through, that we have a million things to say to each other is. . .depleated, if not gone. Of course, each of us knows a side of the others that'll never be seen by anyone else; we were together during certain key formative years, but still. . .It's just increadible to think that there are life-shaking things of monumental significance happening to each of you every day, that I KNOW NOTHING ABOUT (and vice versa). In high school, we saw each other every day, and each of us figured prominently in the other's personal melodramas. . .I don't know if this makes any sense, but I think that that's crucial: common aspirations, be they to get a good grade on a paper, to prolong a fire drill, to exterminate the infestation (well, you never know). Oh, Bucci ( ... )
