This has pretty much been my understanding of the definition of "negative space" since learning about the concept, soooo...:P Ever try to draw a chair by drawing the empty spaces around/in it?:S

I've never taken a photography or art class (well unless art history counts) so one of the things that fascinates me about the icon communities here on LJ is just how much there is too learn about cropping, spatial issues, coloring etc. Not to mention how much fun I have admiring the end products :D

My only artsy background is two years of art class in high school:) I never learned anything about photography or gimp or photoshop there, but now I find LJ and these communities to be a great way of learning^^ We did learn about composition though. A little.

As I had a semester of art history last year, I'd have to say that does not count:P Though I did learn that these icons do count as art^^ *gg*

And yes, loooooove admiring the products:D
