Ok so I guess i should start with my homestay family. They are very nice but my "parents' don't speak english. Their 23 yr old son does however, as does much of the rest of the family. Yes to cookbook for sure. Even if a lot of the fruit & such is exotic, I'm sure you could find at least some in the flea market. (Cool food, odd knick-nacks, cheap-as-dirt prices.)

LOL! Right below your entry, right now, is an add for toilet paper. "Perfect for adults or pets, flushable!....etc etc" Hee hee.

It's great that some of your familia speaks english. If I were in your position, as someone whose never taken a spanish course, I'd revert to sign language.

Guh. Horses! Take pictures of them!

Sounds like fun. Yummy food, kinda creepy bathrooms, and lots of mountains, and large insects. hehe
