Let the Rain Wash Away Your Tears- Prologue- Miyavi/Kai

Mar 28, 2011 00:28

Light rain sprinkled from the sky. The last setting rays of the sun bid Tokyo farewell, shining  golden light upon the world below. In the middle of the city’s busy streets a tall man stood outside the lobby of a grand recording company, his bright rainbow colored hair making him stand out against the stunning white marble.   He calmly watched the sprinkling rain form puddles on the street below as he waited patiently for the man that had been haunting his thoughts for a while now. Just as he was about to take another drag from his cigarette, a soft voice floated across the lobby, causing him to turn his head in the direction of a young man carrying a heavy bag on his shoulders.

“Miyavi? What are you doing here so late?”

“Kai.” Miyavi spoke out as the shorter man stopped in front of him. “I was waiting for you,” he grinned widely, the setting sun making his black lip ring sparkle.

“What? How long?” Kai asked with a worried expression clouding his beautiful features.

“Oh not that long,” Miyavi shrugged carelessly, stroking the brunette’s cheek with his fingers, causing a blush to form on the younger’s face. “I wanted to see you.”

“Oh, why did you want to see me?” Kai asked, although he knew the exact reason why the man was here now. He knew but he didn’t want to think about it; he wasn’t ready to face such a big decision yet. He didn’t know if he was ready to love someone. Someone that was, in appearance and attitude, just like the rest of them. Just like the insensitive men that had constantly broken Kai’s fragile heart.

“I need an answer Kai, I can’t wait anymore.”

“Ah, well, um…” Kai looked to the ground nervously, ignoring the powerful stare of the older. “I don’t know Miyavi.” He wasn’t ready, not yet. He couldn’t face the fact that he was slowly falling in love with this beautiful man. The thought both filled him with joy and scared him at the same time. But maybe this time it would be different? Maybe, with Miyavi, he could feel the actual emotions of love and passion he had so longed for.

“What are you hesitating for?” Miyavi asked Kai, a hint of impatience rising in his voice.

Kai looked up at the man, scared. Oh no, he had done it again. Kai always managed to push the ones he loved away. What was wrong with him? Couldn’t he ever just say what he felt? Kai brooded over his unhealthy thoughts, completely ignoring the presence of the beautiful man in front of him.

“Hey,” Miyavi spoke out. His voice remained unheard as Kai seemed lost in thought, staring at his feet. He knew why Kai was silent - he knew of his past relationships, but he wanted to break his fears and help him move on with his life. Miyavi had waited and supported Kai long enough; his patience was beginning to wear thin. “Hey, Kai!” Miyavi repeated forcefully, shaking Kai’s shoulder. The brunette looked up into taller man’s eyes. “I know you thought a great deal about what I asked from you a couple weeks ago. But I’m here to tell you that whatever your decision, I’ll still love you, no matter what.”

By this time, Miyavi had placed both hands on Kai’s face, making sure that whatever he needed to tell the brunette would not go unheard. “I’ll make sure no one ever hurts you again. I love you Kai, and I don’t want to spend my life with anyone but you.”

Kai’s eyes were soaked with tears. His heart warmed with the convincing words Miyavi had just spoken to him. He smiled at the taller man, who was waiting for his answer. He rose up on his toes and lightly kissed Miyavi’s lips, stepping back just as quickly as he done it, eyes wide.

“You’re adorable,” smiled Miyavi. He brought Kai’s face closer to his again, gently pressing on his lips, but with more fervor this time. Kai wrapped his arms around Miyavi’s neck. His consent for their new relationship was revealed in the increase of passionate kisses he pressed upon Miyavi’s lips.

And with that joyful lightening of his heart’s sadness, Kai walked blindly into a relationship he believed would last forever. He walked blindly into a future unknown. He walked blindly forward not looking back upon his past memories. He walked blindly forward with the man he thought he loved.
