• Type of bomb trigger method used already eliminated some delivery methods. Team working on the profile with the limited information and doing deductive reasoning (really miss that in the later seasons)
• Morgan tells Hotch he's the only one with an ATF background in this episode.
• Hotch calls him on being afraid of being out in the field because of the bomb that took out the agents that was alluded to in 1.01
• Morgan counters with his doubts on Gideon, rather than the bomber himself. Brings up PTSD again.
• Is Hotch defensive on Gideon's behalf? He shut down that line of questioning, saying they need to "profile the bomber, not Gideon." Of course, this could be similar to the "I need your head in this" to Reid in 3.02 'In Name and Blood.'
• Morgan seemed to think Hotch was defending Gideon and remains sceptical of him.
• Theories and connections between victims, until Gideon puts the breaks on that, pretty much saying it's an irrational leap to conclusions (paraphrasing)

• Garcia escorts the bomb fragments to Morgan's workspace. Interesting discrepancy: Morgan doesn't sign anything for receipt of the evidence, nor does the person bringing it have anything to sign. What happened to preserving the chain of custody for evidence?
• cute little banter between M and G; she brings up her dad having said what M had told her. When did her parents die again, exactly? (can't remember the ep offhand either)
• oooh, M think being compared to Gideon as an insult
• lol the way Shemar twiddled his fingers in the air when he went "boom-- see you later UnSub" was perfect
• bottom line of the bomb construction method was to kill target(s), not maim, or make political statements, etc.- very clear-cut purpose because of how much extra work went into making the bomb even more dangerous and lethal.
• JJ's taken over the stationhouse, and Elle saying "she does that" with a nod. JJ runs a tight ship
• After questioning ended cuz of Clurman's phantom pain, Gideon went to get Clurman some help (flag a nurse, etc)- compassion for a victim (recurring theme with the victims)
• Elle bb I like your hair
• Clurman profiles opposite that of a bomber's- they specify why they're eliminating him from the suspect pool.
• New potential suspect: nephew, 12yo who might be into blowing things up.
• M almost finished reconstructing the bomb while G plays video games.
• her questions stand in for us asking questions, M describes what a signature is
• G stumbles upon a solution to one of the remaining pieces, which solidifies the identity of the bomb maker in M's mind- Adrian Bale (but the guy's in prison)
• giving the profile, including types of bombers
• G jumps on the chance to talk to Bale-- is that a smart move?
• H's closet nerd comes out with the tidbit that he collected coins as a child
• chemical compound mixture is unique to Bale again. Copycat or was there something else going on here?
• How is the questioning/interview of Bale not triggering for Gideon? Considering that he was in charge of the fiasco that went down in Boston, that he was diagnosed with PTSD, possibly even with survivors' guilt.
• Also going in to see Bale personally would be playing right into Bale's hands, right?
• it's hard, but with the established method of detonation, that girl was moving the package about too much for the bead of mercury to not have touched either contact leads at the tube's ends.
• possible new motive for killing one of the victims: fraud over her coin collection, discovered when she tried to get them insured
• Ooops, Elle goes to interview the antiquities dealer, who Hotch figures out is their guy and tries to call her.
• The garage car access was broken when Walker drove his car through it, yet the LEO had to use a crowbar on another door?
• M and G go through Bale's email printouts sent from Reid- love the little banter going on
• Walker sends someone with a bomb strapped to him into the police station. Guy did a great job looking like he was about to wet himself.
• Timer and complex construction makes it hard to figure out and diffuse before the clock runs out.
• Man of many tricks- Hotch has a mirror on a telescopic handle. They ought to bring that back.
• They figured out the game plan before the trap had sprung. Everyone but Walker made it out.
• Still got the necklace bomb strapped to the poor guy.
• Negotiations with Bale. Bale's ego trip and trying to get Gideon to be humbled/humiliated. Clear conditions of the deal.
• Gideon mysteriously profiled Bale when trying to get the answer of which wire to cut. Surprised both Bale and Hotch when he radioed the bomb tech.
• Hotch gets to manhandle Bale once the bomb had been rendered safe. That was great.
• G remembered Bale's words about pressing the button on the trigger each and every time the opportunity presented itself. Took that into account, thus saving the day.
• Oh, snap! "You might just call it an emotional release." Throwing Bale's words back at him, about Bale's deal being void and Gideon telling his prison mates that he's a squealer.
