The main thing to say here is that I love this ship and I DNW any anti-shipfic that really shows that they shouldn't be together. (Obvs, but I thought I should say it.) Also DNW anything ending in character death. What I love about the ship is their differences, but also their similarities; fandom so often downplays Remus's humor, so I would love it if you brought that out. (Same goes for Tonks's seriousness, really.)
We've got a bunch of tags here to play with! The ones with "fake" I intend as not 100% fake, but as ending in the two of them falling in love (or already being in love but confessing it to each other), and they can be fit into canon, written as part of a fix-it AU where they don't die and maybe didn't get married as in canon, or any other kind of AU you want - literally any kind, plain old "what if X never happened?" to straight-up historical settings. Several of the others are kind of canon, but you can do them as AUs as well. You get bonus points if Sirius is alive in your AU, even if you don't refer to how this would affect the time line! And just be aware that I like sappy fluff, so like ... if you're feeling that, please do go hard.

Here, what I'm looking for is something that brings in the political aspects of an arranged marriage: it's not just about these two characters, but their entire families or countries. In this case, I would be perfectly okay with a fic where the pairing isn't actually romantic (e.g. one princess doesn't want to marry the other princess because Princess 2 is a giant jerk, but goes through with it for the country's sake), except maybe in the case of Noblewoman/Devoted Male Servant, because the thought of doing that in an unromantic way is, um, a little too dark for me. Fully romantic and fluffy is still great, though!

I split these off from the previous because there's definitely a different vibe with them: these are people getting married for some kind of reason, but politics doesn't really come into it. I'm a big fan of Gentleman Jack, and I do love a strong butch/femme dynamic (or feudal lord/handmaiden). I'd also strongly prefer a happy ending and minimal homophobia.
Howl's Moving Castle - Sophie/Howl, Lettie/Suliman
You basically cannot go wrong here. I said "any tag" and I meant it. My strong preference would be to keep DWJ's light and bouncy mood even when handling fairly dark subjects, if you know what I mean. Every time I start to think up some kind of direction for you, like "I'd prefer non-AUs, please," my brain immediately imagines the opposite ("what about Howl and Sophie as Regency-era royalty??") and it's great too, so honestly ... surprise me. Oh my god, either of these would be excellent as an AU with the "humans pretending to be monsters to win the hand of the lady" trope tag.
