Regarding the tampon string problem - have you ever considered using a menstrual cup? I know it seems a little hippie/gross, but I've used one called 'the keeper' for over 10 years (well, I'm on my second one now) and I find it amazing, and you could still work with it in because it doesn't hang outside of you at all (but definitely will not get stuck inside).

I use 'the keeper' (www.keeper.com), and my partner uses a 'divacup' (www.divacup.com).

omg, she told you to just cut the string off! I would be like mega scared to even thinking about doing that. I am so worried about even forgetting about one being in, let alone one with NO string. ack!

And I'm not sure why they were worried. Maybe because management might have said no?? There was only a little bit of girls that night.
