Yeah, I'm late replying to this, but here it goes: Your family only wants what is best for you. You already know that they're over bearing and over protective and when they think you're making a wrong decision they'd rather you listened to them and not have to go through any pain. I'm not saying that this is right, but that's your family. In the end you have to make your own decisions of what you can live with and what you can live without.
