If I were to describe myself in idiomatic platitudes, "The grass is greener on the other side" and "The grapes higher up are more sour" would be major players. But I suppose this is part of human nature. After all, we aren't perfect. That isn't an excuse though. As long as people don't allow these feelings to consume them, it's perfectly fine to

I miss Taiwan as well. I want to go back this summer! But I have classes and other scholarly nonsense. I'll be "shrieking at greatest lung capacity" when I visit Taiwan after I graudate. :D

Oh, to sing the praises of Taiwan! The place is great because it provides a sense of independence along with the feeling of community. Whenever I'm there, I feel incredibly fortunate to be able to observe everyone living his or her own distinct life--from the man selling red-bean pastries at the corner to the fellow students engaging in light banter on the subway.
I might just be rabid though.

Gigi, Mencken seems to have percolated your style. :) Thanks to Smoot's project, we might as well be writing copycat essays here in our dissertations on the vicissitudal turbulences of life.

And I have no idea who HL Mencken is, so yeahh. I shall go hum in a corner and pretend to be well-read and educated. *nods*
Yayyy, video games! You used to play every weekend? That's pretty hardcore. :P
I wish I could properly experience Taiwan. The first time I went, I was one or two. And you know, as I was an infant, I don't exactly remember much. The second time I went (I think it was during seventh grade or something), I got sick and pretty much stayed home all day with some funky stomach affliction. That trip also started up my weird uberly dry skin (on my hands). So yeahh. My only two experiences in Taiwan weren't exactly that pleasant or anything.
I think the Yahoo cyberdude is getting massaged by one of those vibrate-y things that supposedly help you lose weight.
By the way, I wish I had your sophisticated vocabulary. :) Every time I try learning new vocabulary, it all leaks out of my head within the hour. :/

I do remember the skin-affliction you had in junior high, but I thought it went away.
Dazzling vocab only comes when I'm feeling inspired.
H.L. Mencken = an American journalist from the late 1800s to the mid 1900s. :P

Before I went to Taiwan, I never used lotion (and my skin was fine). So I blame their water (or something). Maybe it was weird and caused some strange reaction in my skin (or Taiwanese government officials were trying to poison me).
Yayyy, vocabulary! And you apparently feel inspired all the time, because your vocabulary is rarely less than dazzling. :)

Seriously, I think you're unable to sleep because you're thinking about what to write in these lovingly juxtaposed anecdotes during your REM mode!
^ Ahahaha. Aqui esta mi "attempt to be smart."
"Failed precalcus quiz--but oh ho ho ho! I have more important issues to tackle!" .. That would be me. :D
