"Jay, I'll just get water, and then I'll go home. Relax, man!" Eve reassured her brother as she got out the car one cold night. Before he could reply, Eve hung up the phone and stashed it in her pocket. She got out of the car and headed towards a water gallon fill-in machine with two empty gallons in tow.
After a while, once she was done filling the gallons, Eve went back to her car and loaded the trunk with them. Suddenly, a random hobo on the street straight up went to her and stuck his hand out. "Could you please spare me some change?" He asked kindly. However, Eve didn't have money left and nervously shook her head, mumbling an apology to him as she unlocked her car.
"You must have some money on you!" The beggar acted too rash and grasped Eve's shoulders tightly. Eve screamed and pushed the raggedy-clothed man away from her, running to the back seat of her car, since it was the closest escape.
Unfortunately, she dropped her car keys as she climbed into her car. She cursed to herself and tried locking all the doors of the car manually. The beggar cackled maniacally as he quickly unlocked the back door of the car and swung it open.
Eve screamed as the beggar clung to her legs and licked his lips. She shut her eyes tightly and started crying right there.
A split second later, a young pale man with black short hair and various artistic tattoos on his body pulled the beggar out of the car and threw him on the ground. He started beating him up right there until a couple of his friends came over.
"Jay!" One Latino man with a cap called out to the tattooed Asian man. "What's going on here?"
Jay pushed the beaten-up beggar towards his friends. "Go turn him into the police. Tell them I'll turn in a statement tomorrow afternoon with Eve." His friends nodded, dragging the beggar over to the police department which was only a block away.
Jay grabbed his sister's car keys and carefully climbed into the back seat of the car, closing the door after him. Eve was still shaking and sobbing from the near attack.
"Eve? It's me, your brother...." Jay whispered calmly as he gently grasped her forearms. Eve gasped and looked up with her wet, teary eyes. She clung onto him and continued to cry into his arms. Jay comforted her with sweet words in her ear and rubbed her back. "Don't worry, I'm always here for you..."
