In every quiet night time, when moon comes up high and shines its effulgance through the darkness, there’s a worth secret that anyone will refuse to confess.
People sleep. Cats purr along with a chill, cold breeze. Dogs will stop barking and drop down their standing out proudly ears. All creatures have fallen asleep, into a deep, deep slumber after their consciousness slips away.
Everything seems to have been having a sleep peacefully.. Or so you thought.
“ There! There! He’s running away!”
Like a cat, dashing to escape, not wanting itself to be a prey in the night.
“ He can not walk off the Heart of Eternity! Catch him! Don’t let him off easily!”
An agile man in black sleveless and tight leather pants, made his way on the rooftop, managing to avoid the blinding huge floodlight - along with a smile on his face.
“ You can’t - Hurry up! Pick up your guns, now!”
Like a wildcat, devolved his way from side to side, a sound of gunshots deafening through, and he sprang high, relegating himself to coalesce with the darkness as he stuffed out a sharp paper between his fingers - parting his mouth to pull out his smirk, and he disposed the sharp white paper until it pierced the springy soil, forcing the chief to drew out the paper and a clash between his teeth followed soon as he read the message.
'Mission is completed - Earl.'
“ You fool,” the nimble man mumbled in satisfactory, hand up to exemplify his triumph - The Heart of Eternity shone brightly through the night. “ Do you think you can catch me, Earl, the sovereign of darkness in the night?”
This time is me, the vanquisher of all games we play, officers.
“ You all need thousands time to learn how to apprehand this stupendous thief, but maybe also in your dream.”
“ Shut up!” A glassed male, apparently the chief standing up angrily, shouted out on the back of his throat, prickling the dark sight of the thief with his raging eyes, blood rushed up his ears. “ Definitely.. Definitely, I will catch you and never let you fling off me, Earl!”
The thief, who goes by Earl as his appellation, chuckled. “ Well, I am so looking forward, Chief Yang. We will see who can win this game.”
Unless you have cracked open my intention, there’s no way I’ll lose to you.
“ We’ll see later, Chief Yang..” Because this game is at my fingers, I will never fall through my own game, even if it’s a sheer net of a spider, I’ll make sure everything to be my piece of game. “ .. Who is the winner.”
Until I get my own ‘jewel’, I won’t stop.
“ Chief,” The blue eyes shot a confidence, murmuring a gentle whisper, “ You just don’t know everything, that’s why I will always win.”
The smile dissolved from Earl’s face, as he relied on his feet, and leaped back into the darkness, getting ready to retreat from the game, with a victory in his hand.
“ Chief Yang!”
It shot Earl’s raven-black eyes open, as an unusual voice called the chief down there, running down hastily towards him.
Earl had never heard this sanctified, pristine voice among the troop of constabulary before, and it sure almost manipulated his mind for short, before he regained back his sense and looked intently at the voice’s owner.
A thin male with delicate body in white coat which doctors often wear, his red hairs softly bouncing up and down as he ran, pink lips and flushed cheeks that begged to ravish, pale skin glistening under the dim of full moon, made Earl to lick his lips as he scanned the slender male from up there.
“ Doctor Taemin!” Chief Yang shifted a glance and gritted his teeth, still feeling disappointed and raging over not being able to arrest the legendary thief. “ Any officer got injured?”
The doctor shook his head, seemingly looking uncertain to settle on a question about the thief, yet he stammered, “ I was just.. worried of the current situation.”
Behind the drape of darkness, Earl smiled to himself, leaning his back against the cold bricks of wall, clucthing the Heart of Eternity in his hand, a content feeling washed him off.
“ Doctor Taemin.. I bet he is a new guy in the constabulary..”
Earl latched his tongue on the lower lip, wetting the dry flesh a little bit too eagerly.
How would it feel having the fragile male underneath the strong, muscled body like a Greek God?
“ He is so beautiful.”
Shining and radiating the elegant illuminance, like an emerald in the darkness.
“ I think..” a chuckle, “ I’ve found my jewel.”
The only precious jewel in this world.. that I won’t let anyone to share it with.
Earl looked up at the pitch-black sky with tenuous grey stripes.
“ My, my. It’s almost dawn.” He smiled, “ The night time as Earl is over.”
Slowly, he sloughed off his black guise until he wore nothing to cover his upper body, and tucked himself in a warm brown sweater. At that time, his phone rang back to life, vibrating violently in his pocket, and he patiently flipped it open. “ Yes, my Lord?”
“ Have you done your job smoothly?”
“ Exactly as you wanted, my Lord.”
“ Well done, Earl. You never disappoint me.”
He polished up a smile upon the appraising sentence, as if he knew that no one would have been able to do the job except him, and spoke in a dark, yet subdued and suave voice to the said Lord. “ Thank you, it’s my honour..” he kneaded the diamond gently, “ Also In my day time.. I am not Earl anymore, it is Minho, my Lord.”
a/n: this is the story which will replace Yes, My Master for a while (until I might decide to really write a sequel), sorry for not writing of any! I also just got a very short spare time to type this out, the epilogue of Yes, My Master will be out soon this week, I think. Also the Heart of Eternity is a diamond that really exists, it is a very rare precious stone, you can always google it n_n 'Jewel in The Midnight' title is taken from a manga about a thief too, but I assure you this story is completely different since the original title is a shoujo manga trollololol.
Minho's hair is like during in RDD period and Taemin's hair color is pretty much like in Replay Japan with the length like in Lucifer.
