Bishop Liberius changed the date of Christmas (which was whatever it was back then, basically all over the place, since there's no proof for when Jesus was born at all, since Jews didn't care about birthdays) to December 25th in 347AD to steal it away from the people who celebrated the birth of the sun god Mithra during Shab-e Yalda
