It was unexpected, too unexpected. His heart was quite noisy, but it was something he was used to now. He tried to imagine a dinner with Daniel, but almost flinched at the thought of spending hours with his daughter. Almost because Daniel was intelligent.

Grégoire nodded and forced himself to follow slowly his uncle to the library.
Usually, his uncle would rather spend times with his twin sister and then go back to the manor. Grégoire wouldn’t say this change pleased him, especially because of this cold, dark and heavy smoke surrounding this man. He was familiar with his uncle’s remorse. But it was worse today. His uncle turned back to him.
- I saw you with those boys today, d'you know?
Grégoire’s heart missed a beat. A shiver ran down his spine. For a moment, he almost forgot how to breathe.
