What Do You Think?

Someone said to me recently that Jesus said to obey the laws of the land. This person is against illegal immigration. I'm not for it, but I understand our system is broken and many poor and suffering people come here to feed their family. I don't consider these people to be criminals. I like to err on the side of being compassionate to people, myself. I'm not really religious, but I try to base my ideas of right versus wrong on whether or not someone would be hurt.

Exactly. Religious or not, we all have a little voice in our head that tells us when we see someone hurting that it's wrong.

I think we should question laws. Otherwise, what are we? Rats in a lab experiment trying to get the cheese we're told we need. Sometimes, I think laws need to be broken. Occasionally I feel that Americans are too trusting, too complacent. Change is difficult. Never in history has it been easy. I see what our country gets way with here and in other countries and it makes me furious. It's not all bad. But it could be so much better.

I would bet that almost ALL great revolutionaries broke laws.
